The Sims City is a game created by EA Sports that enable you to network throughout the city. It is classified as a social networking game. EA also has Sims Pets, Sims university and Sims big business. Bubble Trouble is an online game created by miniclip that you have to strategically plan how to manuever through each level. Call of Duty is a shooting genre, another similar game is NBA Live, published by Activision, this game does enables networking. For the Helicopter game the genre is Arcade, publisher is MyPlayCity.ru, and other games by them are Kill Deal, Crazy fishing, and Sawblaster. TextTwist is an online game created by Yahoo Games. It is classified as an educational/learning game and there are no networking abilities used through the game. The object of the game is to come up with as many words as possible through a random mix of letters. Other Yahoo Games are Bejeweled 2, Chocolatier, and Monopoly.

Console:Donkey Kong is published by Playstation 2 and is classified as a platform. There are no networking opportunities when playing this game. Other games by Playstation 2 and in the genre of platforming are Hidden Invasion, Lifeline, and Mashed Fully Loaded. Mancala is a puzzle game created by FlipSide5. Other games offered by this company within the same genre are Touch4 (Connect4), Checkers and Touch Tennis. Brickbreaker is a game created by digital chocolate in which you use a paddle to try and eliminate bricks on the screen with a little ball. Each level gets more difficult with certain bricks that the player cannot break, but you have to go around to get the the weaker bricks. Wii Fit is a sport simulation genre, other similar games Wii Sports Resorts and EA Sports Active, published by wii, this does not have a sharing network. For the Call of Duty Modern Warfare the genre was first person shooting game, the publisher was Activision, and other games by Activision are Call of Duty world at war, Call of Duty modern warfare, Call of Duty roads to victory. Wii Fit Tennis is a sport simulation drama, and it is published by Nintendo. There is no sharing network associated. Other games published by Nintendo are Mario Kart and Halo.

Mobile:Mobile games are convenient and easy to use because you can play them wherever you are. Many times these games are played on cell phones. There are usually options that you can play with other people so you are competing against friends. Scrabble is published by EA Mobile and is classified as a puzzle. There are networking opportunities when playing this game and can play with other people. Other games by EA
Mobile is Tetris, Bejeweled, and Sudoku. Mario Cart 64 is a game created by Nintendo and is a racing game. Other racing games for this console can be Donkey Kong racing, Diddy Kong 64 and Crusing in the USA. MarioKart on my WII console, created by Nintendo also just used on the WII console. Words With Friends is an iPhone application published by newtoy inc. This game does enable networking with friends, enabling you to play against them. Ecommerce Business Proposal
Hello flower shop owner, I have recently become aware that you wish to expand your brick-and-mortar flower shop to the World Wide Web. Taking the plunge into Ecommerce can be a very nerve wrecking process especially if one does not know where to begin or even know what things like an Ecommerce platform or analytic software mean. I will start by making things a little clearer. First of all an Ecommerce Platform is software is a virtual online store where you can offer your product to the public. There are many types of platforms to choose from and we will get into this later on. The Business Analytic Software is skills, technologies, and much more used to analyze and help your business where it sees best fit, think of it as your mentor.
I have reviewed three, of what I think are the best Ecommerce platforms for you to run your business off of. They include Zen Cart, Magento, and OsCommerce, I will begin my guideness by revealing the pros and cons of each of these then show you which one is best for your business. We will start with Zen Cart, this is probably the most simple of the three. Some of the Pros include: its free, you can download add-ons ranging from administrative tools anywhere to adding extra languages, allows you to sort products in categories and sub categories, manage and control your stock levels, write reviews on products, create specials and featured products, compatible with major accounting software, and there is a strong forum community which can help you with any problems you run into. Some cons are most of the basic reports are available which include products viewed, products purchased and customer’s orders. It lacks more sophisticated reports such as sales by products, profit on each product, profit margins made and so forth. Upgrades and add-on integrations are difficult, and it just doesn’t allow you to plug and play as freely as other services do. Moving on to Magento, some pros include: Its free, easy to configure and customize to your needs, ready to use out of the box, its an open source, allows for plug ins and add-ons, handles multi currencies, good for small and medium Ecommerce needs, easy integration of payment gateway. Some of the cons that can be associated would be: a lot of customization needed to fit reasonable needs, lesser article/content management features, you need to be very familiar with the framework of the program to make customizations, not suitable for large Ecommerce needs. The last platform which I reviewed was one called OsCommerce, pros for this platform include: It’s a powerful piece of hard ware and can handle just about anything you throw at it, its free, can hook up with most payment gateways, there’s a great user community to help you figure out what you need to get out of it. Cons for OsCommerce are rare but include: you really need to be familiar or willing to learn some php and also a little html. Out of these three platforms I would suggest you go with OsCommerce I believe this is the only one that will allow you to get whatever you put in. By putting in the time and learning the software you can do much more and in the long run you will run into less problems with this.
Now for business analytic software I have found one that would team up well with OsCommerce and it is called ClickTale. ClickTale will allow you to see every mouse movement and every click, as well as increase revenues and improve site usability. It also includes features like providing your customer with customer support, minimizing shopping cart abandonment, and watch website visitors. With this software there are four plans to choose from to meet your needs. These plans start at the monthly rate of $0 to $790. With these two types of software on your side getting your business started in Ecommerce will be a breeze.

•An innovative technology that has come out in recent years and is utilized by Skype and a few other technology companies is the ability to make free video calls and video chats.
•Skype allows you to send and receive instant messages and files.

oHowever, it seems much easier to just pick up a cell phone and call someone than to access Skype to make a phone call.
oAlthough, it can be cheaper to use Skype instead of a cell phone, especially if you are communicating oversees where the rates become more expensive.

•In certain areas, you might lose reception and have a call dropped because of your connection to the internet.

On Pandora you can say what you do and do not like, and you can create various playlist stations, and you can also purchase the music. On LastFM I feel like they just gave you a wide variety of artists, but you couldn’t personalize them a lot. However, they do give you the option to share the track, tag the track, or purchase it. LastFM offers similar options, but you have to have the patience to learn about the sites options.

Pandora gave me a bunch of artist suggestions that were popular and I already knew. I am not a big Go-Go’s fan per-say, but I recognized all of the artists, and I liked the music the site suggested. If you just want to create a fun playlist of your favorite bands/genres, this is a good site to use.

LastFM gave me an interesting variety of choices. Many of these artists I had not heard of, but when I listened to them I liked their suggestions for the most part. I appreciate that they showed me music I wouldn’t normally have found. If you want to discover new or less-known artists, this might be a better option.

Searching the artist Beyonce on Pandora and Last FM brought back meaningful results. On Pandora I was suggested two songs from beyonce herself, “irreplaceable” and “naughty girl”. Also three other female artist were suggested, all which are considered to be R&B or hip hop, but all the songs of the artist would be considered hip hop. The other three artists were Ne-Yo with “Miss Independent”, Mariah Carey with “Obsessed”, and Destiny’s Child with “Bootylicious”.

On Last FM my search for beyonce only contained on song from her, which was “If I were a boy”. The other four suggestions were all R&B artist and all females. The only difference in the suggestions from Last FM was one of the suggested artist was highly known in the U.S. but is from another country, making her an international artist, this artist was Rihanna with “Pon de Replay”. The other three artists were Kelly Rowland with “Comback”, and two others which are related. Destiny’s child with “Emotion”, and Le Toya with “Obvious”, who was originally a member of destiny’s child.

“Personalization Options” Comparison:

Pandora allowed the listener to adjust volume, pause, or forward their music to the next recommended song. I felt like Pandora was lot more “beginner friendly” because it displayed a clean, organized layout. It also featured the ability to create a new station, share music/stations with friends, edit your current station, like or dislike a song, purchase and/or bookmark a song, explore music through your mobile phone or a video series, and read about the artist and/or type of music you were listening to.
Last.FM featured a lot of the same personalization options as Pandora, such as the ability to start a new station, like or dislike a song, forward to the next recommended song, adjust the music volume, share, tag, or buy a track that you were interested in, and research artists and their music. However, Last. FM did a more extensive job at listing artists, stations, and events related to the music station the listener created. Last.FM also allowed users to post comments and/or slideshows about certain tracks. I felt that one could not use Last.FM without any previous experience with “internet radio”.

“Recommendations under LIL WAYNE” Comparison:

Pandora’s recommendations consisted of more mainstream music and repeated a lot of the same artists, including the searched artist (Lil Wayne) himself. Last.FM, however, suggested a lot of off-the-wall artists and songs that I had never heard of before. It seems like Pandora matched a lot of popular music with my artist search whereas Last.FM dug into a deeper, “less well-known” song and artist library. I think it would depend on the listener’s personal preference as to whether or not he or she would like to hear the artist(s) they searched for and related popular songs or whether they would wish to explore a variety of different and less popular artists and songs.

Lab Excercise 7

While researching three of the top online streaming video players offered in todays internet,(youtube,Hulu, and Veoh),I observed many different characteristics of each site. I began by viewing videos one at a time on each site and making note of things like how well the video played, what options are offered while veiwing the video, any adds that I noticed, and any other unique featers I noticed while veiwing.
My first website to veiw a video on was youtube.com, this is by far the most popular video veiwing sites, so I expected this to show through its quality. When I begain watcing the video it loaded for less than two seconds and began with out forceing me to watch any adds or anything of that sort. I watched the entire video with out it stoping, and with excellent quallity the whole time. once the video was over related video popped up which I could then click on and watch them as well. Features the site included were: making the video full screen, controling volume, controling which spot of the video you can watch for example, you can speed it up or rewind it or stop it and then play it again. I find youtube my favorite site by far, while the other players try and offer the same things, youtube is just more interactive and user friendly.
The second site Hulu.com was a bit different from youtube but not by much. When you click on a video it takes you to that videos home website and then plays it for you. Before the video begings you are forced to wacth a 15sec advertising clip then the video begins. The video played without stopping and was good quality. Also all the features offered by youtube were all offered on this site, one of the differences was when the video ended instead of showing you related videos, the site showed you a new add and began the video again.One thing I didnt like on Hulu was that related videos are not suggested and the comments section on the video is not displayed like youtubes, it is a difficult proccess to become interactive with the video.
On the site Veoh.com veiwing videos is pretty much the same. I clicked on a video and a 15 second advertising clip begain playing instantly and there was nothing you can do to speed it up. The quality was the same as the other sites and the video played all the way through without pausing itself. featers offered were to watch the video in small or large, or you had the option of full scree. you can control the volume, pick the segment you want to watch and pause and play the video. Veoh does not display viewers coments or ratings like youtube, and I also noticed there was an ad on the side of the video, this is my second favorite site because of its structure and organization.

Section 2

Embeding videos on you tube is very quick and easy, although you do have to look to the side of the page for it. You find this option in the posters profile section in the top right of the screen. Once you clikck on the option embed you simply highlight the embeding and click copy, then moved it to my blog and clicked paste, simple as that.




Veoh offers the option of embeding underneath the video by the url adress. To embed it I simply copied and pasted it into my blog. This site put the option to embed in a slightly more noticable place than youtbe.

Hulu suprisingly was the easiest site to embed videos from in the box that the volume controls and playing option was a button that says embed on it. Once you click on this the information you need pops up infront of the video and from there you simply copy and paste it to my blog.
